Sensei V. Romo Riquero’s Intramural Tournament

On December 9, 2007, Sensei Vincent Romo Riqueros held his annual Intramural Championships in Brooklyn. The tournament was held at Master Kiyoshi Shiina’s Dojo.

Master Shiina is a highly skilled, 8th Degree Black belt in Kodokan Judo. He had hosted many of the top Japanese Martial artists that came to the New York City area since 1967.

Master Toyotaro Miyazaki was a special guest of Master Shiina and Sensei Riqueros. After the event, Master Shiina invited us to have some Japanese food. He made home made sushi for us. Master Shiina is not only an expert in Judo but a great Chef. We had a great time and look forward to attending next year’s event.

We had a great time at Sensei Riqueros Intramural Championships. Shihan Leung attended with Edward Nieto, Derek Santos, Sebastian Acosta and Steven Holguin. Shotojuku competed successfully and went home with a little more experience. We took Sensei Riqueros out to dinner and everyone had a great time in Brooklyn. We look forward to attending next year’s event.
